CheckDispute · Effective September 24, 2026

Terms of service.

These terms apply when you use checkdispute.com and the CheckDispute workspace at app.checkdispute.com. By creating an account or ordering a paid service, you accept them. Our Refunds and cancellation policy and our Privacy notice explain the rest.

What CheckDispute is.

CheckDispute is a do-it-yourself workspace. It reads a credit report you supply, points out details worth checking, and prepares dispute letters from the facts you give it, for you to review. You decide whether to approve, change or reject every letter.

CheckDispute provides general information, not legal advice. It is not a law firm, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Your free options come first.

Disputing is free. You can dispute inaccurate information directly with the credit bureaus yourself, at no cost, and get your credit reports free at AnnualCreditReport.com.

You never need to pay CheckDispute, or anyone else, to dispute an error.

No result is guaranteed.

Accurate negative information is not an error, and disputing it will not remove it. No result or score change is guaranteed, with or without CheckDispute.

CheckDispute does not promise that any information will be deleted, corrected or changed, that a credit bureau, creditor or collector will agree with you, or that any credit score will change.

You stay in control.

Nothing is mailed, signed, notarized or sent without your approval. Optional paid mailing sends only the exact letter packet you approved, with you as the sender.

You are responsible for the facts you give us. Dispute only information you believe is inaccurate or incomplete, and do not say an account is not yours unless that is true.

Your account.

You need an account to use the workspace. Use it only for your own credit reports and documents, keep your password private, and change it if you think someone else has used your account.

Prices.

  • Previewing prepared letters is free, with no card needed.
  • A report unlock costs $29 one time. It lets you download, print, approve and send that report's letters, including letters from later rounds.
  • Plans cost Basic $19.99, Plus $29.99 or Premium $49.99, charged only in calendar months you use them. The plan fee is the price of the first plan service delivered to you in a month; other plan services that month cost nothing extra.
  • Add-ons are charged only when performed: electronic signature, mailing (First-Class, Certified, or Certified with electronic return receipt) and notarization ($50).

Every price is shown before you pay. CheckDispute does not currently charge sales tax. Payments are processed by Stripe. See all prices.

When you are charged.

  • Most paid services start with a hold on your card for the price. We charge it only when the service is delivered, and release it if the service is not delivered.
  • Unlocking letters that are already prepared is charged when you unlock them, because they are delivered at once.
  • A report's letters unlock only after its payment succeeds.
  • Nothing is billed in advance, at the end of the month or on a schedule.

Prices in U.S. dollars. Plan months follow U.S. Eastern Time.

Plans and cancelling.

  • Joining a plan saves your card; nothing is charged when you join.
  • You can cancel a plan at any time in your workspace. Cancelling stops all future plan charges and removes your saved card.
  • If you already paid for the current month, its benefits last until the month ends. Reports you unlocked stay unlocked.
  • You cannot cancel while a plan service is in progress; you can cancel once it finishes.
  • Changing plans takes effect right away if this month's fee is not yet paid and no plan service is in progress, and otherwise on the 1st of next month. There is no proration.
  • If a plan payment fails, unlocks pause until it is paid.

Optional services from other companies.

PostGrid prints your approved packet and hands it to the U.S. Postal Service, BoldSign handles electronic signature, and a commissioned notary performs notarization through OneNotary. Delivery times depend on these services and the Postal Service, and we cannot guarantee them. A credit bureau dispute never needs notarization.

Refunds.

When a service is not delivered, its hold is released or its charge is refunded. Refunds and cancellation explains every case.

Acceptable use.

Do not upload documents you have no right to use, false or altered documents, or harmful files, and do not try to disrupt or break into CheckDispute. We may suspend an account used for fraud or in breach of these terms. Charges for services already delivered stay due; holds for services not delivered are released.

Changes and your rights.

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and a change never applies to a charge you already authorized. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the law.
