Write down the credit limit figure the report shows. 3. Find your cardholder agreement — try the CFPB's agreement database or request it from the issuer. 4. Record the limit your agreement states, and the limit on your most recent statement. 5. Note both documents' dates alongside the report's date. 6. Write one sentence: the reported limit, the limit your documents state, and the correction you want. 7. Attach the report page with the item circled plus copies — not originals — of agreement and statement. 8. Record the furnisher's address as printed on the report for the direct dispute you send yourself.
